Mad World covered by Adam Lambert

This is one of my favourite songs. I liked the original version (by Tears for Fears), where it sounded more angsty and kind of frustrated.

The covers by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules were ballad-like, and they pull you more into the words.

However, the cover version by Adam Lambert is why I have to even take time to put this song on my blog. You not only get the words but the dreamy atmosphere as well as the emotions - yet knowing that this song is based on what we all experience at some point in our lives.

This song is like Desiderata...
It's being the awareness among the madness. Stepping away from everything. Not resisting anything. Just letting it be. It's not about leaving things to fate, but about knowing that everything that happens happens because it is not a separate event but an event that interconnects with another. Like a huge web that pulls everything together. Like a big picture that will definitely not make sense the moment we peel off a small piece and ask ourselves 'What does this even mean?'
It's a very mad world... but it is the way it is.

This is sensing beauty when the music is sad.
Lovely.
Relax and enjoy.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn-out places, worn-out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head, I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very, very
Mad world
Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
And they feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher, tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very, very
Mad world
Mad world
Enlargen your world
Mad world
